Care for Someone is a charity working in both the UK and Zimbabwe. We registered as a charity in 2001 setting out our mission and charitable objective to ensure those suffering life disadvantages have access to education and training opportunities to help them realise their full potential. In the UK, the charity seeks to raise the aspirations of black, Asian and ethnic minority women (BAME) by using mentoring and coaching interventions to increase their employability. Focusing on women specifically the groups we target are traditionally underrepresented within the labour market. We identify these groups as black, Asian & ethnic minority women and others from low socio-economic backgrounds.

Access to Education

Access to education which supports young people from disadvantaged backgrounds access education and other forms of life skills that will aid and improve their quality of life and prospects.

Women of Zimbabwe (WoZ)

Women of Zimbabwe (WoZ) a Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment project which focuses on supporting women through mentoring on topics such digital skills, financial literacy, support for projects start up and up gender equality awareness.

How it all got started…

Patricia Chinyoka founded Care for Someone Charity in 1999 and formulated the charity’s mission and its program of giving. Patricia was touched by the plight and poverty as well as the effects of AIDS on families in Zimbabwe. Of notable concern was the high number of children who dropped out of school due to lack of school fees and a general increase in HIV infection among young people.

Patricia Chinyoka, a human rights activist, and equality champion has been working with marginalised communities in Zimbabwe for over 20 years. She founded Care for Someone charity in 2001 but had been working tirelessly for many years before this. She is driven by a desire to see everyone succeed despite their background.
